The teacher is accused of asking the girl is she was a virgin and to make hot video chats
Adrian Lewis, 34, is a teacher at Harding High School in Charlotte, NC. Adrian was arrested on April 4, 2025 accused of indecent liberties with student.
In April 2025 sexual assault detectives were notified of a teacher at Harding University
High School making inappropriate comments to a female latina student.
Detectives responded to the school and spoke to the female. The student disclosed that due to her being Spanish speaking and not understanding much English, she uses a language translator on her phone, or her teacher’s phone.
She advised sometime this school year, her Math teacher Adrian asked if she was a virgin. Then, after a tutoring session with him, she was waiting on a ride and the teacher asked if she needed a ride, but she declined and it made her uncomfortable.
The latina student advised that several times while in class, Adrian got in her personal space and touched and rubbed her back/shoulder area, records say.
Officials say the teacher even poked at the side of the girl’s stomach and she had to tell him not to touch her.
One day the student used the translation app of the phone to ask Adrian about her grades. The girl says Adrian responded in the app “And you dont want to be my girlfriend so we can make hot video calls. Think about your grades.”
Detectives spoke to Adrian and he denied asking her to make hot video calls. Court documents say Adrian allowed detectives to look at his phone.
In his translation app he had comments referring to a boyfriend and asking: “Are you lonely?” Adrian advised this was a conversation with a different student expressing speaking to her about a recent breakup
Adrian was arrested on school grounds charged with indecent liberties with student.
