South Carolina authorities say 22-year-old Anna Patton had sex with a male student. Anna is a English teacher at Lamar High School in Darlington County, SC.
On the week of January 13, 2020 Anna was charged with sexual battery with a student 16 or 17 years of age, no aggravated force or coercion; criminal solicitation of a minor; and disseminating harmful material or exhibiting harmful performance to minors.
According to authorities, Anna sent inappropriate photos and messages to a 16-year-old male student beginning in October 2019. Anna is also accused of having sex and oral sex with the student on several occasions.
Anna has been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.
Audrey Childers, of the Darlington County School District says:
“The safety of our students is our highest priority. The district is cooperating with the law enforcement investigation.”
