Round Rock High teacher Randi Chaverria, 36, is accused of having oral sex with a student.
Randi was a Family and Consumer Science teacher who won a teacher of the year award recently. She turned herself into a Round Rock, Texas jail on November 26, 2019. She faces a charge of an improper relationship between an educator and a student, a second-degree felony.
The felony complaint affidavit states that Randi engaged in sexual contact or deviate sexual intercourse with a student at Round Rock High School where she was employed.
According to the affidavit, the sexually fueled crimes happened on or around October 16, 2019.
The student said that during the fall semester on several occasions Randi called him and had sexual contact with him, including performing oral sex. The student told police that the two had oral sex twice in Randi’s classroom.
Text messages between Randi and the student support what the student told law enforcement about the nature of their relationship, affidavits say.
Randi resigned from her teaching position with the school district on Nov. 19.
