In February 2020 Loryn Barclay, 28, pled guilty in a case where she was charged with having sexual relations with a 17-year-old male student in Washburn, Missouri.
Loryn was a substitute teacher at Monett High School during the time of the sex acts. Loryn was sentenced to three years in prison, but that sentence was suspended in lieu of five years of supervised probation.
The student said he had a sexual relationship with Loryn between November 2016 and January 2017 that included oral and vaginal sex.
Loryn admitted to having sexual intercourse with the student twice at his home. Loryn also performed oral sex on the student.
A school resource officer was tipped off to the relationship in May 2017 and reported it.
