In April 2026 Bricard Washington, 30, pled guilty to the second degree murder of Katie Eckard, 27. Marquez Williamson, 27, also pled guilty to Katie’s murder. Katie was shot and killed in Charlotte, NC on the notorious West Sugar Creek. Katie has been arrested many tines.
In July 2020 Katie was at an ATM on West Sugar Creek getting some cash when Bricard, Marquez, and a 16-year-old juvenile suspect approached Katie and robbed her.
West Sugar Creek is a terrible area plagued by drugs, crime, prostitution, and murders.
The suspects then shot Katie dead. The suspects were arrested within an hour charged with murder. The juvenile died before trial.
Marquez pled guilty in 2025 to murder. Bricard pled guilty to murder in 2026 right before his trial began. Bricard was sentenced to 233–292 months in prison. Click here to see more ATM robberies.
