SUSPECT SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR MURDERING CHARLOTTE MAN

On November 26, 2024 Da’Reem Gaskin, 31, was sentenced to 23 years in prison for murdering Deante Brown, 28, in Charlotte, NC. 

Deante was killed on September 6, 2020 in a shooting. Deante was shot during a fight with Da’reem. 

Deante was shot and then dropped off at a hospital where he died. Da’reem was arrested days later with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. 

He was charged with murder, discharging a firearm into occupied vehicle in operation, and firearm by felon. Da’reem was convicted of murder by a jury in November 2024, he was then sentenced to 23 years in prison.
