SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER MAN KILLED IN SHOOTING

On March 22, 2024 Dean Tate, 48, was arrested accused of murdering Robert Long, 53, on Scottview Drive Charlotte, NC.

Robert was shot and killed at 7 p.m. He was shot multiple times. 

The victim was pronounced deceased on site. Preliminary information indicates that the victim and suspect were known to each other, and this is an isolated incident.

Dean was spotted by cops driving a vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated, but Dean sped off and a chase began.

The chase ended when Dean crashed at police headquarters in uptown Charlotte.

Dean was then arrested and charged with murder.

Aleki Langi, 18, was killed on May 1, 2025, while riding a bicycle on Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC. Aleki was a mormon missionary in Charlotte to preach about Jesus Christ.
