Sugar Ray Robinson, 65, was killed in a BMW crash on June 10, 2024 on The Plaza Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Sugar was crossing the The Plaza outside of a marked crosswalk on foot at 9:58 p.m.
A BMW 2018 430i vehicle then struck Sugar. The BMW driver remained on scene and had front grill, hood, and windshield damage.
The driver of the BMW was screened for impairment and determined to not be impaired. Further investigation will determine if speed was a factor for this crash.
Paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced Sugar deceased.
