On March 5, 2026 congress man Tony Gonzales dropped out of the election for Texas congress. Regina Santos Aviles, 35, is the woman that killed herself after having an adulterous affair with Texas republican congress man Tony Gonzales. Regina committed suicide by setting herself on fire on Sept. 14, 2025 in Uvalde, Texas.

Regina took anti depression medicine and drank alcohol, sometimes together. Regina also held a gun to her head in the past and made suicidal ideations on various occasions.

Regina worked as a staffer to Congressman Tony Gonzalez. Regina was married to a man. Tony was also married. Regina and Tony both had sexual relations committing adultery and cheating on their spouses multiple times.
Regina even got a big pay raise while working for Congressman Tony. The two even exchanged sexy text messages with each other. Regina’s husband eventually found the text messages and confronted Tony.
In Sept. 2025 Regina poured gasoline on her breast and body, she then set herself on fire in her front yard. Regina burned to death. Her cause of death was ruled suicide.
For months Congressman Tony lied about the affair and denied it. The House Ethics Committee investigated Tony over the affair. In March 2026 Tony finally admitted to the affair and cheating on his wife.
Congressman Tony then decided to drop out of the 2026 election for congress.
