David was the senior pastor of Family Baptist Church and served as the president of Independent Baptist Online College. Pastor Baker was arrested on September 10, 2024 charged with sexual battery of a child.
The alleged victim was a child relative. Pastor Baker bonded out of jail on September 11th for $200,000.
The pastor then went to the hospital emergency room on his own will armed with a gun. Pastor Baker went into the hospital restroom and shot himself twice in the chest.

Emergency room doctors and nurses rushed to the bathroom to save the pastor, but he died on scene. The hospital was placed on lock down. After hearing of his death, a judge dismissed the charges against Pastor Baker.
