A jury convicted a man of double murder and attempted murder
Caldwell Cole, 79, fatally shot Janet Scronce, 40, and Furahn Morrow, 39, in a wild murder on Lytham Drive Charlotte, NC. On July 28, 2023 Caldwell was convicted of double murder.
In November 2019 a shooting erupted at a home on Lytham Drive in which 4 people were shot.
After being asked to leave the residence Caldwell returned with a fully loaded revolver and eighteen additional rounds of ammunition. Caldwell shot Furahn dead, and then shot Janet dead.
Caldwell also shot 2 other people who survived.
At trial several years later a jury found Caldwell guilty of two counts of first degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear.
Judge Louis Trosch sentenced Caldwell to life in prison.
