Harry Brooks, 73, was killed on August 18, 2024 on Independence Boulevard Charlotte, NC.
At 5 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a pedestrian.
Harry was running across the busy Independence Blvd. when a Nissan truck struck him. Harry was tossed up into the air and several feet back.
Harry landed on the asphalt. Several vehicles had to stop or swerve to avoid running over Harry’s dead body.
The driver of the Nissan stopped and remained on scene. Harry died on impact. The truck sustained front end damage. No charges are expected for the driver of the Nissan.
