Curtis Hayes, 79, died on October 12, 2024 after being hit by a CSX freight train on Rozzelles Ferry Road Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Curtis was hit by the train on October 9, 2024 at 1:22 p.m., Curtis was walking near the intersection of Honeywood Avenue and Rozzelles Ferry Road when he was hit by the train.
The CSX train stopped and radioed in to police. EMS found Curtis unresponsive lying on Rozzelles Ferry Road.
Curtis was transported in an ambulance to Atrium Health Main Hospital with life threatening injuries.
Curtis underwent emergency surgery at the hospital, but sadly on October 12, 2024, Curtis died from the train strike injuries.
