Newly released video shows Fairfax County Police Officer Peter Liu shooting and killing Sydney Wilson, 33, at an apartment complex in Reston, VA.
Sydney was shot and killed in September 2024, but the video was released in October 2024. A mental health professional called police for them to do a well being check on Sydney.

Officer Liu responded to Sydney’s apartment. The officer was trained in crisis intervention.
Officer Liu knocks on the door, Sydney answers and then closes the door. Sydney then opens the door again and begins to stab officer Liu in the face multiple times.
Officer Liu backs away and tells Sydney to stop, Sydney refuses to stop and continues charging at the cop with a knife.
Officer Liu then shoots Sydney multiple times in the hallway of the apartment. Sydney died on scene. Officer Liu is seen bleeding from his face, he radios in for help and other officers arrive to provide medical aid.
It is believed that Sydney suffered from mental health problems.
