Date:

Darius Chambers, 31, was accused of murdering Ryan Autry, 29, on West Sugar Creek Charlotte, NC at a shopping center parking lot. But the murder charges were later dismissed by prosecutors.

Darius Chambers and Ryan Autry

Ryan was shot and killed on March 29, 2021 in a parking lot. In the late evening officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon 911 call.

Ryan was located with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by paramedics.

On April 1, 2021 Darius was arrested charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

But in September 2022 all charges against Darius were dismissed without leave by the district attorney with no plea agreement. It is unknown exactly why prosecutors dismissed the charges, but in situations like this, the dropped charges likely resulted from lack of evidence.

Darius was released from jail and walked away free.
