A drunk driver killed a mom and her 2 children on busy highway
Bernedine Spann, 32, and her children, 13-year-old Ja’Leah Spann and 7-year-old Jaxton Spann died in a head on car crash by a drunk driver. The fatal wreck was on January 14, 2026 on Hwy 82 in Lee County, Georgia.

Bernedine was driving on the highway with her 2 kids in the car. A female drunk driver was driving on the wrong side of the highway and crashed directly into Bernedine and her kids.
All involved were rushed to the hospital. The family died on January 18, 2026 days after the crash. The female drunk driver was in the car with her daughter during the crash, they both remain in the hospital.
The suspect is expected to be arrested after she is released from the hospital. The dead children went to school in the Randolph County district.
The Randolph County School system said:
