Ganiyu Ibrahim, 54, was murdered on January 4, 2024 on the same month as his birthday. A teenager at a group home for kids is accused of murdering Ganiyu in Charlotte, NC.
Ganiyu worked at a group home for kids with behavioral issues on Swearngan Road. The homicide started with a physical altercation at the group home between the kid and Ganiyu at 7:15 p.m. on January 4th. The teen hit Ganiyu in the face and body areas.
The victim fell to the ground from the physical strikes and never got up. 911 was called and Ganiyu was discovered dead in the home.
The juvenile suspect had fled the scene, but cops were able to arrest the suspect within an hour of the homicide.
This was Charlotte’s first murder of the new year 2024. Ganiyu was from Africa, but lived in Charlotte for several years.
