WOMAN KILLED AFTER FENTANYL OVERDOSE

Rochelle Newberry, 42, died from a fentanyl drug overdose in Union County, NC. 35-year-old Cameron Nye was arrested on January 3, 2024 accused of giving drugs laced with fentanyl to Rochelle. 

In June 2023 Rochelle was found dead at a home on Rocky River Road. Rochelle had used illegal drugs that were laced with fentanyl.

Rochelle leaves behind children and a loving family. Detectives, deputies, and crime laboratory personnel launched a 6 month investigation after Rochelle’s death in an effort to find out who gave her the deadly drugs.   

6 months later, the investigation led to Cameron being arrested charged with death by distribution, he was given a $500,000 secured bond.
