Jewell’s life lost its shine as he was killed just days before his birthday, spent $4,000 on wedding ring
Jewell Thompson, 35, died on September 9, 2025 in Charlotte, NC just ten days before his birthday which would of been on September 19th. Jewell was killed on Interstate 77 in a crash. Jewell leaves behind family and friends.
Jewell was popular in the urban community. Jewell was on I-77 when he had car trouble and pulled over on the side. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Jewell exited his car to check on the vehicle. Another car moving fast down the highway then crashed into Jewell head on.
Jewell was knocked into the air over 20 feet. He landed on the hard asphalt and his body was splattered in blood. Jewell died on scene. It does not appear any arrests were ever made.
State medical professionals will investigate Jewell’s body. No foul play is suspected. Jewell’s funeral was on his birthday September 19th. Jewell spent $4,000 on a wedding ring when he proposed to a woman in marriage.
It is unclear when Jewell and the woman married. There were other fatal crashes on I-77 within days of each other.
