MAN KILLED IN HIT AND RUN CRASH NEAR INDEPENDENCE BLVD. IN DODGE CHALLENGER

A major fatal hit and run crash occurred on September 17, 2023, at 2:50 a.m. on Idlewild Road Charlotte, NC. Taze Pritchett, 33, was killed in the collision. A stolen Land Rover crashed into a Dodge Challenger.

Taze was the passenger in a 2019 Dodge Challenger driven by a female. A stolen 2015 Land Rover was speeding and hit the Dodge as it was making a left turn on Idlewild Road near Independence Blvd.

The driver and passenger of the Land Rover fled the scene immediately after the crash.

Officers responded to the crash. Taze was pronounced deceased on scene. The female driver of the Dodge was injured and transported to Atrium Health Main hospital with serious injuries.

Pastor Sylvia Morales was killed at the same location as Taze Pritchett in a 2018 dodge Charger crash

Officers searched the area and located the female passenger of the Land Rover, she suffered injuries from the crash and from an assault. She was transported to Atrium Health Main Hospital.

The driver of the Land Rover was not located. The Land Rover was reported stolen from Charlotte on September 11, 2023.
