MAN HIT BY AMTRAK TRAIN AND DIES

William Biggerstaff, 62, was killed after being hit by an Amtrak train in Charlotte, NC on March 21, 2025. Train deaths are an often occurrence.

At 7:24 p.m., William was walking in the middle of the train tracks on Old Concord Road when he was struck by an Amtrak train.

The train stopped and contacted main dispatch to report a pedestrian strike. Representatives from Amtrak and Norfolk Southern Railway responded to the scene.

EMS located William unresponsive with serious injuries, he was pronounced deceased on scene.
