MAN GETS LIFE IN PRISON AFTER MOTHER MURDERED, BODY DUMPED IN FIELD

On April 4, 2023 Richard Jordan, 42, was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of murdering 21-year-old Alexus Fraley in Charlotte, NC. Richard’s girlfriend Ashley Helms, 28, was also charged with murder. Alexus had 2 young kids.

Alexus was found dead on an abandoned field on Dixie River Rd. Charlotte, NC on April 27, 2018. Alexus was reported missing on April 13th. Her body was decomposing.

On April 27, 2018 Richard was arrested charged with kidnapping and murder in connection with this case. 

Richard’s girlfriend Ashley was arrested also charged with murder and kidnapping.

Nearly 5 years later at the court trial, Richard was found guilty of murder, kidnapping, and concealing a death.

After deliberating for about four hours, the jury found Richard guilty. The judge then sentenced Richard to the mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Charges against the co-defendant Ashley Helms are pending.

Richard was arrested in 2008 accused of murdering 20-year-old Kevin Cano and 20-year-old Jamie Aubrey-Marquis Gill in Charlotte, NC. The 2 men were shot to death inside a Chevy Impala.

Richard was later acquitted of the double murder charge.
