Qua’Tonio Stephens, 21, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder in the homicide case of 3-year-old Asiah Figueroa. Qua’Tonio was arrested on September 9, 2021 in Charlotte, NC. Qua’Tonio is also charged with shooting into 3 homes on Joe Morrison Lane.
On September 7, 2021 at 1:00 a.m. three homes were shot into at Joe Morrison Lane Charlotte, NC. Per that case, Qua’Tonio was charged with seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and three counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, but he was not arrested until September 8th.
Later into the night on September 7, 2021 two more homes were shot into within the same neighborhood on Richard Rozelle Dr. Video shows that shooting resulted in 3-year-old Asiah Fiquero being shot and killed.
Authorities say Qua’Tonio took possession of the gun used to kill little Asiah.
From information gathered, detectives with the Crime Gun Suppression Team conducted a traffic stop within Interstate 85 on a vehicle driven by Qua’Tonio on September 8, 2021. The vehicle failed to stop, and a police vehicle pursuit ensued.
The police chase came to an end and Qua’Tonio was arrested, charged with accessory after the fact to murder and felony flee to elude- in addition to the charges from the shootings on Joe Morrison Lane.
