Khai Reaves, 22, and Dashawn Powell, 28, pled guilty in September 2026 to involuntary manslaughter after Collins Sullivan, 27, was killed in a DWI crash on I-85. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.
There were several vehicles involved in the crash on I-85. Some vehicles flipped upside down at high speeds. Sadly, Collins died on scene. Some vehicles even caught fire. Khai and Dashawn along with other people were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital.
After Khai and Dashawn were released from the hospital they were arrested charged with death by vehicle. Khai was charged with DWI. In September 2026 both suspects pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
They were sentenced to 16-29 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending successful completion
of 36 months of supervised probation. A split sentence of 60 days in jail must be served.
Collins had a very lengthy criminal offense past. Collins has been arrested 16 times in less than 10 years. Dashawn has a terrible education as he dropped out of high school in the 10th grade.
