2 nurses at UNC REX Hospital were exposed to HIV and Aids blood after being sprayed in eyes with infected blood, allegedly by patient with ear issues
In September 2025 Kameron Gilchrist, 25, was arrested accused of spraying HIV Aids infected blood on 2 nurses at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Kameron has medical issues on both of his ears, as loose sickly skin is seen hanging from them. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

The incident was in March 2025 but it took months for Kameron to be arrested due to his continued need for medical treatment.
The encounter occurred while Kameron was in the hospital being treated for diabetes. Kameron is accused of using a bag of IV blood and spraying HIV Aids infected blood into the eyes of hospital nurses Carlos Diaz and Melissa Hilkert.
The hospital employees jumped back and ran away. Security was called in, but they were scared to approach the suspect due to the blood being infected with HIV and Aids.
Eventually security personal put on hazmat suits and physically subdued Kameron. It is unknown if Kameron actually has Aids and HIV.
Nurse Melissa and Carlos were checked out after the encounter, it is unknown if they were infected with HIV or Aids after being hit with the deadly blood. Click here to see more sexually transmitted disease articles.
At the time of the encounter, Kameron was not in a healthy enough capacity to be in jail, so he was in the hospital for months afterwards. It was not until September 2025 that Kameron was finally arrested charged with assault on emergency personnel.
