A homicide in the snow occurred on Leake Street Charlotte, NC on January 21, 2025. The murder was at apartments. 2 inches of snow fell from Charlotte during the homicide. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
At 10:15 pm a male victim was shot and killed at the apartments. The man was found dead laying in the snow. First responders drove to the scene in icy conditions.
Several police cruisers were even seen sliding on the ice. The homicide appears to of stemmed from a domestic violence assault. Black ice can be very treacherous.
No arrests have been made yet. Charlotte experienced a unexpected snow accumulation. The forecast did not originally call for snow. But temperatures dropped and it began snowing around 6 p.m.
Surprise snow hit Charlotte with 2 to 3 inches
The snow accumulated and stayed falling for 3 hours. The bulk of the snow was in eastern North Carolina, including Myrtle Beach and Ocean Isles.
