A wild double shooting unfolded at North Lake Mall in Charlotte, NC on December 15, 2022, all during the Christmas holiday season and busy shopping hours.
The shooting was around 3:30 p.m. A fight between two people began inside the mall. The suspect then drew a gun and fired several shots hitting two people, including an innocent shopper.

Crowds of people then ran for cover as the shots rang out. Some people were trampled, while others hid in stores and in the food court.
Another video shows a triple shooting at a mall in Texas.
An on duty Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Officer assigned to the mall was able to locate the suspect and deescalate the situation to take the suspect into custody without further incident. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
The mall was evacuated as a precaution, and will remain closed for the remainder of the day. The 2 victims have life threatening injuries.
Northlake Mall released the following statement:
Earlier this afternoon Northlake Mall experienced an isolated shooter incident. The authorities were immediately contacted and the shooter was detained. There is no threat at this time however the mall will remain closed for the remainder of today. We are working with local authorities to better understand what transpired.
