The bad teenager was trying to steal the Door Dash driver’s car, so the Door Dash driver shot and killed him
On February 19, 2026 Door Dash driver Keshawn Boyd, 28, pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter after he shot and killed 15-year-old Matthias Crockett in Charlotte, NC on 8th Street. Matthias had bad behavior and was trying to carjack Keshawn while he was delivering food for Door Dash. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram now.

Keyshawn was delivering food for Door Dash in uptown around 7 p.m. Keyshawn ran a few feet to a residence to deliver the food, while leaving his red SUV on. Matthias entered the SUV and tried to steal it. Keyshawn came back to his SUV and saw Matthias in it.
Keyshawn told Matthias to stop, but he put the car in gear to get away, Keyshawn then shot and killed Matthias, he died on scene.
Keyshawn was arrested charged with murder. But nearly a year later Keyshawn made a deal with prosecutors and pled guilty to manslaughter. In return he was sentenced to 48 to 70 months in prison with credit for 393 days he already served in jail.
