15-year-old Matthias Crockett was shot and killed by a Door Dash driver on January 22, 2025 in Charlotte, NC on 8th Street in the heart of uptown. The Door Dash driver is identified as 27-year-old Keshawn Boyd. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Keyshawn was delivering food for Door Dash in uptown around 7 p.m. Keyshawn ran a few feet to a residence to deliver the food, while leaving his red SUV on.
Matthias was accused of entering the SUV and trying to steal it. Keyshawn came back to his SUV and saw Matthias in it.
Keyshawn told Matthias to get out, a fight between the two men began. Keyshawn shot Matthias dead. Matthias died on the scene.
Keyshawn was arrested charged with murder. Matthias was a student at West Charlotte high School, he also was on the wrestling team. Several people that attended West Charlotte High School have been killed this week.
