43-year-old Marybeth Robinson was killed in a car crash on February 27, 2026 in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Interstate 77. Joel Smith, 21, was arrested accused of killing Marybeth, Joel has extensive dreadlocks. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The fatal crash all unfolded during black history month. Joel was exiting Interstate 77 when his car lost control and his vehicle went airborne crossing the median. Joel’s car then came crashing into several vehicles. Marybeth was in one of the vehicles hit.
The crash crushed Marybeth’s vehicle extensively. Marybeth was transported by EMS to Piedmont Medical Center where she was pronounced dead by hospital staff in the emergency department.
Joel was injured and arrested charged with reckless homicide death. Speed was a factor in the crash. Marybeth was a mother of 3 kids, she was also married. She had a baby girl that she adopted from foster care.
Marybeth’s funeral is on March 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Transformation Church in Indian Land, SC.
