James was a popular DJ and swing dance instructor. Many people loved his music choices and mixes at wedding parties and social gatherings.
In 2023 James developed stage 4 colon cancer. Through treatment and medical procedures, the cancer dissipated. But in 2025 the colon cancer returned and moved to his liver.
Eventually doctors gave James the bad news that he only had a few months to live. James was moved to hospice, in expected death. In May James died. Cancer continues to kill people in Charlotte.
