Lagia died a month after her birthday, she had a young son
Lagia Benefield, 43, died on November 6, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. Lagia worked at the ABC liquor store. Her brother Terrance Benefield, 47, died nearly 2 years prior.
Lagia died from medical complications, she had stage 4 colon cancer. Her death came as a surprise a month after her October 2025 birthday. Lagia’s brother Terrance died a few years before she did in January 2024.
Terrance was a military veteran and worked for railroad company Norfolk Southern Railroad as a operations supervisor. Terrance graduated from Garinger High School in 1995.
It is unknown at the moment what caused the death of Terrance. Lagia was a mother and leaves behind a young son. Cancer is a huge cause of death for thousands of people in Charlotte alone.
