Jimmy Woods died after a long battle with cancer, he was a actor with several gigs on Homicide Hunter series

On September 9, 2025 Jimmy Woods, 34, died in Durham, NC at Duke University Hospital from cancer. Jimmy was a brilliant actor. Jimmy was an alumni of North Carolina Central University and a member of the Kappa fraternity.

In 2016 Jimmy was diagnosed with cancer which required surgery. 2 years later he had a stem cell transplant in 2018. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

But Jimmy continued to work as an actor. He even earned the role as a murder suspect in the television series Homicide Hunter.

A NCCU student was murdered in August 2025 off campus

Jimmy was a father, husband, brother, and friends to many. Sadly he lost his battle with cancer, he died at the hospital in the intensive care unit.

Jimmy’s funeral will be September 19, 2025, at 12:00 noon, at St. Joseph AME Church in Durham.
