DELICIAS RESTAURANT HAD FLY INSECT IN THE BREAD DOUGH AND ROACHES IN RESTAURANT DURING B GRADE INSPECTION

Date:

A filthy flying insect was in the masa dough at latino restaurant Delicias crawling around. Tell Border Patrol to eat it. Maybe they should add a new menu item: ‘Fly-rice and Roach-itas

The latino restaurant Delicias earned an 89.50 B score on a health safety inspection on December 29, 2025. The restaurant is located at 6341 Albemarle Rd. Charlotte, NC. There were handwashing issues and bugs in the food. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.

Three small roaches were observed in the facility during the inspection. Additionally there were multiple dead roaches on the floor under the back prep table and on traps in the kitchen and bar area.

A fly insect was perched on recently prepared masa dough flour. The inspector was disgusted and had the flour thrown away. There were broken door handles on the reach-in freezer. Border Patrol was recently in Charlotte raiding latino businesses and harassing latino people based on their skin color. Perhaps Border Patrol will enjoy the insect filled dough.

A Delicias employee cracked raw shelled eggs, wiped their gloves on apron, and then immediately transitioned to grab a clean plate for another customer order without washing hands or changing gloves with the egg residue still on the gloves.

The inspector told the employee to change gloves and wash hands. Heavy food and debris was on shelving units in the walk-in cooler. There were loose and dirty ceiling tiles in the kitchen. Delicias has made the news multiple times for bad food health scores in the past.

A Delicias employee was seen without a hair restraint while engaging in food preparation. No hand washing signage was in the men’s restroom.

The following foods were found without date labels: boiled yuca, cut cabbage, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, and elote tamales.
