Adlett Squires won $1 million in the lottery at the Murphy USA gas station on Galleria Boulevard Charlotte, NC right near a Walmart.
Adlett purchased a $10 Jumbo Bucks scratch off ticket and won the $1 million prize. Adlett saw that she won and quickly arrived at lottery headquarters in Raleigh, NC on March 3, 2023.
Adlett could choose to receive her money as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. Adlett chose the lump sum amount of $600,000 and, after required state and federal tax with holdings, she took home $427,503.
That sure is a lot of tax taken out!!
