Michael Bowling was a popular chef, he made good chicken and cheese burgers

Michael Bowling, 49, died on March 8, 2026 in Charlotte, NC. Michael was a popular chef in Charlotte, he had kidney disease. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Michael operated HBX burgers in North Carolina. He was known for stylish and tasty food, most notably his cheese burgers and chicken. Another chef recently died from a fentanyl overdose.

Several years ago Michael had a kidney transplant that was successful. But over time his kidney disease worsened, to the point that he sustained constant medical treatment and hospital visits.

Michael was out of work for a long time due to his health. He even filed for disability benefits, but he never got them.

Sadly Michael died on Sunday. Michael leaves behind family and friends.
