On July 19, 2024 Alejandro Chavez-Gomez, 24, pled guilty to killing a chef in a drunk driving crash in Charlotte, NC. The chef is identified as Kendall Ross, 29.

Kendall was driving a 2012 Hyundai Genesis. The Hyundai went off the road, struck a power pole and wedged between an embankment and the power pole. Kendall was a local chef, he died at the scene.

Kendall’s wife Lillian Hennes was the passenger in his vehicle.
Alejandro’s vehicle continued driving and struck a curb before spinning and coming to a final rest. Alejandro was screened for impairment and found to be impaired. Speed is also a factor for the suspect, cops say.
Lillian had to be cut out of the vehicle with the jaws of life hydraulic device. Lillian sustained life threatening injuries but survived.
Detectives determined that Alejandro was impaired at the time of the accident, he was arrested.
At his 2024 trial Alejandro plead guilty to felony death by vehicle and assault with adeadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Alejandro was given 70-96 months in prison for the felony death by vehicle charge and 26-44 months in prison on the second charge. Those sentences will run consecutively.
