MURDER CHARGE DISMISSED AFTER MAN KILLED ON WEST SUGAR CREEK AT CITGO GAS STATION

Devon Simmons, 30, was murdered at the Citgo gas station on West Sugar Creek Charlotte, NC. Earl Likely, 47, was later arrested charged with the homicide of Devon. But the District Attorney dropped all charges on Earl.

Devon was shot and killed at the Citgo gas station on West Sugar Creek in Charlotte on January 24, 2023. A dispute occurred at a gas pump and Devon was shot by a suspect.

On January 25, 2023 Earl was arrested, charged with Devon’s murder. After multiple back and forth testimonies and motions from Earl’s attorney and prosecutors, the decision was made to declare Earl innocent.

The district attorney dismissed the murder charge against Earl without leave. There was no plea agreement made.
