West Sugar Creek is a horror show. Zombie like people high on drugs walk the street day and night, begging for cash at intersections slumped over. The 375 pound Shannon Solomon, 36, and her one-year-old baby son were found dead and naked near West Sugar Creek at the Baymont by Wyndham motel on Equipment Drive Charlotte, NC. The bodies were found on June 6, 2025.

Shannon was found dead naked in a state of decomposition on a bed with her one-year-old baby son in the motel room. Shannon weighed 375 pounds, her baby son was malnourished and died from starvation, the baby was decomposed also. Shannon and her baby were covered in corpse wax, also known as adipocere.

Adipocere is a waxy, fatty substance formed from body fat in a dead body. Shannon and her baby had desiccated skin, meaning her and the baby’s skin was dried out and had no moisture. The area is known for drugs and prostitution.


There is no indication of foul play. The cause of death for Shannon was hypertensive cardiovascular disease and morbid obesity.
