A CHARLOTTE FIRE CAPTAIN WAS KILLED IN INTERSTATE 485 CRASH

On January 24, 2024 a fiery crash on I-485 killed Charlotte Fire Captain Tony Moore in Mint Hill, NC. Captain Tony was retired from the Charlotte Fire Department.

The wreck was in the late evening on I-485 exit 43 near Blair Road. Captain Tony’s vehicle was hit in the crash. There were several injuries.

Captain Tony died on scene. The details of the crash are being investigated.

The Charlotte Fire Department released this statement:

It is with great sadness that we have learned Charlotte Fire Captain (retired) Tony Moore tragically died this evening in an automobile accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with Capt. Moore’s family and everyone who loved him.
