On Sunday, July 16, 2023 a 9-year-old child was shot on Idlewild Road Charlotte, NC in a home. The shooting was at approximately 3:49 a.m. A suspect vehicle drove by and shot into a occupied house multiple times. The child was shot. The shots rattled the family in the residence and nearby neighbors.
Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the home had been shot into and the 9-year-old victim was struck. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital.
