On April 29, 2024 3 U.S. Marshals were murdered and 5 Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department officers were shot while serving an arrest warrant on a suspect on Galway Drive Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
2 suspects were in the home, one of the suspects shot at cops because he did not want to go back to prison. The suspect was killed in the front yard of the home.
Another suspect inside the home then shot several times at cops. 8 law enforcement personnel were shot in total. 3 U.S. Marshals were shot and killed by the suspect.
Additionally 5 Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Officers were shot, one of the cops was busted in the chest by a bullet. Cops killed a man in uptown Charlotte in 2023.
One U.S. Marshal died on the scene. The 2 other U.S. Marshals died at the hospital. The 5 shot CMPD cops were taken to the hospital by ambulance and helicopter. Watch video here of a teenager shooting a cop in Charlotte at an apartment complex.
Some of the cops are in critical condition, one of them is fighting for their life. A mass casualty hospital bus was called to the scene.
