Already just 2 days after Christmas, 3 people were murdered in 2 double shootings on December 27, 2023 in Charlotte, NC. The first homicide was on Long Talon Way at 2:30 a.m. The second homicide was on Merlane Drive.
On Long Talon Way officers responded to a shots fired call. Two victims were shot. One victim was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS. Another victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Upon the initial investigation, officers also discovered an occupied residence was shot into. No one inside in the residence was struck by gunfire.
Moving on to the second homicide on Merlane Drive which occurred at 9:15 a.m. An assault with a deadly weapon took place.
Two victims were shot. Both victims were transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Homicide Unit detectives are investigating all 3 homicides and the 2 double shootings.
