Ericka Jones, 34, was killed during a hit and run car accident on December 22, 2023 on South Tryon Street Charlotte, NC. Matthew Rowley, 27, is charged with the hit and run death of Ericka. Charlotte Alerts is now on Instagram.
The wreck was at 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Tryon St. and Bowman Rd.
Ericka was walking on South Tryon St. when an Infiniti G37 Sport collided with her. The driver failed to stop and render aid to Ericka.
Ericka was found by cops unresponsive. She was pronounced deceased on scene.
The occupant of the Infiniti drove a few blocks down the street and abandoned the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle down the street from where the victim was hit.
On December 23, 2023 detectives gathered information and were able to locate the alleged driver of the vehicle involved, he is identified as Matthew Rowley.
Matthew was arrested and charged with felony hit and run causing death and reckless driving.
