Kaia Hodge and Jada Cousins were seniors at South Meck High School, Kaia’s dad worked at a prison
On March 8, 2024 two students at South Meck High School identified as Kaia Hodge and Jada Cousins were killed in a collision with an 18-wheeler truck in Charlotte, NC.

At 7 a.m. Jada and Kaia were in a vehicle when it collided with an 18-wheeler truck at an intersection on Tyvola Road. The crash was just 12 minutes away from South Meck High School.
The truck driver was also injured and taken to the hospital. Kaia and Jada were both seniors at the school. The girls also worked at Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Kaia’s dad is a sargeant at Greenhaven Correctional Facility, which is a maximum security prison in New York. Many teenagers have been killed in Charlotte.
