On September 19, 2022 Zachery Rice, 32, was arrested, charged with the homicide of Jamil Rout, 36, that occurred in Charlotte, NC. Warren Capel, 34, was the first suspect arrested on September 14th.
Jamil was murdered on February 13, 2022, on Interstate 485 in Charlotte, NC near Mount Holly Road.
Jamil was on Marita Drive in Charlotte when he was physically assaulted or shot. Jamil was able to drive to I-485 nearby, but he veered off the road and crashed, his Mercedes Benz vehicle was on fire.
Jamil was in the car burning, a 911 call was made and responders arrived at the scene.
Jamil was still pronounced dead at the scene.
But just days after Warren was charged, Zachery was also arrested and charged with Jamil’s murder. Zachery was arrested on September 19, 2022 in Charlotte.
