2 KILLED IN CRASH IN NORTH CHARLOTTE, VEHICLE CATCHES FIRE

A fatal motor vehicle crash occurred on April 30, 2024 in Charlotte, NC on Old Concord Road. Two people were killed in the crash.At 2:26 a.m. a Chevrolet was traveling at a high rate of speed on Old Concord Road when the driver lost control. The vehicle then veered off the right side of the road, struck a tree and caught on fire.

Division officers responded to the crash with injury. The Chevrolet had extensive damage and was on fire.  

The Charlotte Fire Department and Medic also responded to the scene.  After, firefighters extinguished the fire, two occupants were located inside of the vehicle.  

Medic pronounced both occupants deceased on scene. Officials say excessive speed is believed to be a factor in this crash.
