19 people were murdered on the July 4th Independence Day holiday weekend in Chicago

The murders and tumultuous shootings occurred from July 3rd to July 7th. Two women and an 8-year-old boy were killed in a shooting at a party.
Among the dead was Melvin Hill, 36, he was shot to death on his kitchen floor. Cops found him bleeding and unresponsive.
3 people were shot in a drive-by shooting involving a dark colored SUV. Another man was murdered in a shooting on train tracks.
A man and woman were shot in another drive-by shooting, the man died. A 74-year-old woman and a 31-year-old woman were shot. There were several other homicides in shootings throughout the city of Chicago.
