In September 2019 Leon Jones, 32, was sentenced to several months in prison for selling cocaine in Charlotte, NC.
Between September and October of 2017, Leon sold cocaine to undercover detectives on three different occasions at a Charlotte library. When officers arrested Leon and executed a search warrant on his apartment, they located a firearm, 60 grams of cocaine and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
At his 2019 trial Leon was tried for trafficking in cocaine by possession, three counts of sale of cocaine, three counts of delivery of cocaine, three counts of possession with the intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The jury found Leon guilty as charged. Leon was sentenced to 35-51 months in prison. He was also sentenced to an additional 12-24 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending his successful completion of 24 months of supervised probation.
