On September 18, 2022 three people were killed on Interstate 485 near University City Blvd. Charlotte, NC in a vehicular collision.
A multi vehicle wreck transpired around 3 a.m. Several vehicles collided with each other. Three people died on the scene. Multiple people were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The crash was near exit 33. Traffic lanes were blocked for several hours according to the NCDOT.
The fatal collisions are actively being investigated.
